Hysteroscopy

Hysteroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure that allows us to look inside the uterus using a thin, lighted instrument called a hysteroscope. This device is inserted through the vagina and cervix, avoiding any external incisions. It is used for both diagnostic and operative purposes in gynecology.

Uses of Hysteroscopy:

  • Investigating causes of abnormal uterine bleeding
  • Diagnosing or treating uterine fibroids, polyps, or adhesions
  • Evaluating causes of repeated miscarriages or infertility
  • Locating and removing retained products of conception
  • Performing endometrial biopsy or sterilization

Benefits of Hysteroscopy:

  • Quick recovery with minimal pain
  • Usually done as a day-care procedure
  • More accurate diagnosis
  • Can avoid major surgery in many cases

Hysteroscopy is a safe and effective technique that plays a crucial role in identifying and treating intrauterine problems with precision and minimal discomfort.
