Antenatal Check-Up

An Antenatal Check-Up (also called prenatal care) refers to the regular medical and clinical assessments that a pregnant woman undergoes throughout her pregnancy. These check-ups are essential for monitoring the health of both the mother and the developing baby, identifying any potential complications early, and providing guidance for a healthy pregnancy and safe delivery.

Key components of antenatal check-ups include:

  • Monitoring fetal growth and maternal health
  • Ultrasound scans to assess fetal development
  • Blood and urine tests for anemia, infections, and gestational diabetes
  • Blood pressure monitoring to detect conditions like preeclampsia
  • Nutritional advice, supplements, and immunizations
  • Emotional and psychological support

Antenatal check-ups are vital to ensure the well-being of both mother and baby and help in preparing for a smooth labor and delivery.
